Last week, Year 5 performed their assembly all about the Black Death to parents and children. It was a fantastic opportunity to demonstrate what we have been learning about and all the children did a fantastic job at learning and presenting their lines.

All of the Year 5 team are very proud of the children.

Today we have been using place value counters to investigate how we regroup when dividing.

As part of our new science topic, we are learning to do what REAL scientists do! For our first lesson, in pairs we had to design and carry out our own investigation to measure the force of friction without any guidance from our teachers. There were some really creative ideas and it was great to see such fantastic teamwork and communication skills.

We have started this half term’s topic by becoming Historians and using pictures and written evidence to work out what event happened in England in 1348.
