Poplar are PROUD to present their fantastic Tudor houses. The objective was to focus on strength and reinforcement. We asked: Can we make the construction stronger? How could we reinforce different parts? What material has the best properties?
The children worked in teams of five and shared their expertise and ideas. Before they started to build, everyone researched the common features of Tudor houses – timber frames, lattice windows, steep roofs and overhanging ‘jetty’s’. Learning all about Tudor buildings also increased our understanding about the Tudor people and how they lived. It was great fun (and a bit messy) too!
