Home Learning 5/2/21

Hello, Year 5! Here is our Happy Picture of the Day:

Below is the home learning for today. Remember that you don’t need to print off the work you can complete it on a separate piece of paper.

Each day we expect you to complete:

20 minutes of reading, 20 minutes of Times Table Rockstars and 20 minutes of Spelling Shed.

English:

Edit your Newspaper Report today; make sure you’ve used indirect speech. After you’ve done that, have a go at the activity below to ensure your knowledge of direct and indirect speech.

Reading:

Write a book review on Cosmic by Frank Cottrell Boyce. You can use the template below to help you. Look back through your reading work from this term to help you.

Maths:

Today we are looking at converting improper fractions to mixed fractions. Below is some guidance as to what an improper fraction and mixed fractions are and how to convert from one to the other.

Watch the video clip below and have a go at the worksheet questions you are directed to complete. There is no need to print the sheet out you can just write the question number and your answer.

You can mark your work using the attached answer sheet (again, no need to print this out, just use it to check your answers).

If you are feeling confident, you can have a look at the extra challenge questions below.

PSHE:

For PSHE today we are focusing on leadership. In the video, Miss Busby and Miss Mullinger discuss what makes a good leader. Watch it (you don’t have to watch the whole thing, it is a little long!), then complete one or two of the activities below.

The answers are at the bottom of the PDF documents, no peeking! We can’t wait to see your work on Seesaw.
