Happy Easter

Can you believe it is that time of the year again? We have been reflecting on all the fun learning that has taken place and the amazing progress that has been made in year 2, despite many of us getting the dreaded Chicken Pox ! Resilience and perseverance has really shone through this term and you should all be really proud of your children. Reflecting back,it has again been really busy. we have learnt about the Great Fire of London in history. In science we have explored all living things and their habitats and have moved on to learning about plants. We are really enjoy observing and planting seeds and bulbs. Watch our outside area for our summer garden!

We have extended our skills in many areas including division and fractions. I wonder if you could blog some equivalent fractions?

Additionally in English we have been learning to apply expanded noun phrases and our Super Spider Spellings to our amazing writing.

Enjoy your lovely Easter break and we look forward to another fun and busy term in year 2.

World Book Day

What an amazing day! A big thank you to all for your amazing effort with your costumes.  As you can see everyone was recognisable as a character from one of Julia Donaldson’s books.

During the day we went on a book scavenger hunt and shared our favourite books with Year 5. We learnt and performed a poem about the Great Fire of London, which we also shared with Popular and Pine classes.  We were also lucky enough to watch their amazing performance’s of a Shakespeare poem.

A great day had by all.

Writers of the week

We have been learning how to set out and write instructions this week. There are some amazing writers across Year Two. It has been really hard to choose our writers of the week.

However this weeks writers of the week are Timmy Bennett (first picture) for amazing improvement on presentation and Robyn Trotter (second picture) for showing passion in her writing. Pleasing both have  included all of the steps needed for instruction writing. Well done to you both.
