Archery

On Monday 20th November, we took 12 children (3 teams) to CSAC to compete in an archery tournament. Each team played 7 games overall and played very well. Every child improved as the tournament went on, with many of them reaching the board and scoring points for their team. There was a great level of team spirit and the children did our school proud! Well done Lawford Mead!

Year 3/4 Cross Country

On Thursday 16th November, we sent 22 children from year 3 and 4 to Melbourne Park to compete against other Chelmsford Schools in cross country.

The children did fantastically well, with a number of Lawford Mead children receiving invites to become part of the Cross Country Development Squad as their potential was identified whilst running. We are incredibly proud of you all. Well done!

Tag Rugby

On 6th June, we competed in a Tag Rugby tournament in Writtle.

We sent 1 team of 11 children, who did tremendously well against some tough teams.

Our first game we were winning comfortable until the last 3 minutes, when the other team made some changes and scored two tries in quick succession. Lawford Mead defended well until the end, resulting in a 4-3 win.

We went on to lose 1 games, draw 2 games and win 1, resulting in coming 3rd in our group stage. We played 2 games after this, winning comfortably in both occasions.

We came 7th out of 15 teams which is a fantastic achievement, considering we only lost 1 game out of 6. Well done Lawford Mead!

KS1 Active Schools’ Award

We are delighted to receive the Key Stage 1 Active Schools’ Award, which celebrates sporting achievements from the school and pupils. We work hard as a school to provide high quality sport opportunities for all children and we are very proud to receive this award. It is a credit to all our children who show passion in their PE lessons, clubs and competitions. Well done!
