Writing:

Today you are going to retell the story of the Tortoise and the Hare, but you can only use 100 words EXACTLY!

Watch the video to help you know the plot, then start your writing. To start with, only include the key events, then add in more detail once you have done that.

Maths:

Art:

Have a go at drawing a different dragon sketch using the tutorial video. You could colour your sketch in, or just leave it in pencil using different shading techniques.

German Day 2021

Here are some activities we completed from our German Day. We read ‘Red Riding Hood’ in German then had to work out the German vocabulary in English. Next, we created our villians based on the statements.

Our quiz winners were Jamie and Eddie who got 9/20 right on the German Fairy Tale quiz! Well done, boys!

Monday’s Learning – 5/7/21

Reading:

Maths / Art:

Today you are going to design an advert for your theme park. You will need to decide on:

  • a theme park name
  • names for your rides
  • any special features, eg 3D ride, virtual reality ride, water ride, etc

Your advert will need to:

  • display the price
  • include any special discounts
  • be bright and colourful

The better your advert, the more new visitors you will get!

German part 1:

Today is German Day! Read through the story of Rotkäppchen (Little Red Riding Hood) and see if you can follow the plot. Search up any words you do not understand.

German part 2:

Using the attached document, see how many of the traditional fairy stories you can name using the German title.

You can use the answers at the end to check!

Computing:

This morning we are completing our final computing lesson of the week.

Go on Code for Life and continue from where you got up to from Wednesday. Aim to complete at least 3 levels.

Maths:

Today you are going to work out how much it profit you will make each day with your theme park. Firstly, you will need the amount of money from Wednesday’s maths (the amount of money it costs to run your theme park).

Now you will decide on a ticket price, eg £10, £20, etc

Finally, you will use the table below to work out your daily profit. For this you will do 2 steps:

  1. Number of visitors X by your ticket price

2) Subtract your costs per day from your answer for step 1

Science:

Using the interactive BBC food chains weblink, create as many correct foods chains as you can for animals and plants that survive in the Savannah. Aim to find 10 different food chains. Record each one on paper and upload onto Seesaw.

Today is Art Day! Today we are completing artwork based around the book ‘The magic paintbrush’. Watch the video of the book.

Your art task is to design your own mythical dragon. Use the tutorial video to help you structure the body. You can take a few attempts to get the exact shape you want. Once you have drawn your dragon, colour your sketch in using pencils, paint, chalk or any other material you have!

Maths:

Play the missing X table game. Click on the option for all X tables and select the timed version. See what the highest score you can get is. The quicker you answer, the more time you will have!
