Home Learning 27/1/21

Hello, Year 5! Here is our Happy Picture of the Day:

Below is the home learning for today. Remember that you don’t need to print off the work you can complete it on a separate piece of paper.

Each day we expect you to complete:

-20 minutes of reading

-20 minutes of Times Table Rockstars

-20 minutes of Spelling Shed

English:

Plan your own newspaper report based on this ship take off in the video below. You can use the planning grid below to help you. Make sure you include key information that you can get from the clip. You can make up part of the planning, for example the price, date and time.

Reading:

Read this extract from Cosmic and answer the questions next to it.

Maths:

Today, we are continuing to extend our learning by dividing three digits by one digit. Use the video link below to support your understanding of layout and how to tackle the calculations.

Like before, do not worry about the reference to questions on a worksheet. When you are ready, look at the questions on the worksheet below and choose the appropriate challenge level for you. Don’t forget to lay out your work as modelled in the video.

Science:

Today we will be looking at the force of gravity. Gravity is the name for a force that pulls everything down toward the centre of the Earth. Gravity also pulls any object with mass toward each other. E.g. the Earth and the Moon or the Moon and the Sun. Gravity is normally represented by an arrow on an object pointing downward.

Watch the video, complete the sheet and do the experiment if you can!

The answers are at the bottom of the PDF documents, no peeking! We can’t wait to see your work on Seesaw.
