Performing Persuasive Speeches

On Monday all of Year 5 went onto the playground to perform their persuasive speeches, which we have been writing in Literacy.

This was a great opportunity for the children to project their voices and emphasis words loudly, imagining that they need to rally the peasants into fighting the King of England!

Both classes performed wonderfully and loved hearing each others’ speeches.

Pine’s Writer of the Week!

This week’s writer of the week for Pine class, goes to………..

Evie!

This week in our literacy lesson, we have been looking at the peasants revolt. We have researched the peasants revolt, looked at the features of a persuasive speech, planned our speeches and today we got to write speeches!

Evie has written a very persuasive speech, she has included modal verbs, cause and effect vocabulary, rhetorical questions and she has even challenged herself by linking her paragraphs! I particularly like the phrase “I demand it to be fair!”

Well done Evie for writing such a fantastic persuasive speech!

On Monday, we will be performing our speeches to each other, so be sure to practice you persuasive voices!
