Art Day!

Today Chestnut and Silverbell worked together to recreate paintings by the Japanese artist Katsushika Hokusai. The Year 1 and Year 4 children worked in pairs to create a wave painting using a range of different materials including chalk, pastels, tissue paper and glitter! The children worked incredibly well together and show fantastic team work to create original and creative pieces of work!

Miss Caldwell and Miss Baghurst

On Friday all the Year 4s had a special storytelling workshop, hearing superb retellings of traditional stories. We all loved hearing new tales and saw how we can vary our voice to show different characters.

A Muddy Christmas Treat!

Chestnut were lucky enough to have an afternoon of Muddy Adventures as their end of term treat after earning all of their Dojo points!

Miss Lindsey worked incredibly hard to make it exciting by giving us lots of team work and exploring games! My highlight was winning Hide and Seek for the girls!!!

I hope you all have a lovely Christmas and I can’t wait to see you all in the New Year!

Year 4’s fantastic Stone Age work!

We are so proud of all the Year 4s and their outstanding Stone Age work! The effort from all children has been superb!

Firstly in class we have been re-creating Stone Age cave paintings using chalk on gray paper. We worked hard to draw scenes representing animals being hunted by Stone Age people. They look amazing!

We have also been overwhelmed with the homework projects from both classes. It is clear that lots of effort has been taken to produce some exceptional pieces of work! A big thank you to all of you who brought in a project, and to those that helped at home!
