This week the award goes to 3 children in a collaborative effort to produce a play script. Well done Aimee, Lexie and Conor!
This morning we visited the reception children in Larch and read to them. We hope you enjoyed listening to us Larch? In year three we decided to dress up as animal characters from Dick King Smith texts. I think you will agree that we all look amazing and have certainly shown passion when making our costumes? Miss Davis and Miss Middleton would like to say a big thank you to the year three parents and their children for all of the effort they have put in. We are having an interesting day writing play scripts which we will act out this afternoon and are designing book tokens for a competition.
Happy Christmas from all in Aspen class. This is us blogging in our computing lesson.
We have had another busy week in year 3. We were lucky enough to watch the KS1 play which we thought was brilliant. We have also been writing Christmas themed poems and have been solving Christmas problems in maths and making Christmas cards in art.
I would like to say a big well done to the children in Aspen class for all the effort and time you put in over the half term holiday when working on your projects. I am so impressed and PROUD of what you have produced.
Aspen class have had so much fun this week. At the start of the week we worked on a whole school art project and we would like to say thank you to the year six children who came to help us. On Wednesday we enjoyed celebrating science and got to watch a 360 degree movie called “Earth’s Wild Ride.” We then went on to write a setting description in literacy. On science day we became scientists and carried out an investigation to find out which of our magnets was the strongest. We also exploded a volcano! Today we were lucky enough to visit the cinema to watch “Inside Out.” Miss Davis said she was extremely PROUD of us because we were so well behaved and polite.
Hello year three I hope you have been enjoying your half term holiday? Have you remembered to practice your spellings and work on your Egyptian projects? I know Miss Middleton and I have already set you homework but we need some canopic jars for our year group assembly. I wonder if any of you could take up the challenge of trying to make some for us as part of your Egyptian project?
Here are a few ideas to get you started:
We had lots of fun today in mathematics because we used smarties to help us learn to use fractions. We even got to eat a few during our class Dojo reward time!
We were very lucky because one member of our class gave a talk and showed us photos of when her family visited South Africa. Her aunt was even lucky enough to meet Nelson Mandela.
In science we have been learning about balanced diets and the different food groups. Can you remember why we decided to design and make pizza in our design technology lessons? Did you enjoy making and then eating your pizza today?
In literacy this week we have been learning about the features of instructions. Tomorrow we are going to write our own instructions for making pizza. What are the steps to success that you will need to remember when writing your instructions?
