Today’s learning 21/10/20

English – writing:

In our English lessons we have started to write stories based on the book Escape from Pompeii. You can hear the first part of the story on this youtube clip:

Here was my example of a story:

It was a bright, pleasant morning in the town of Pompeii.  Saturn was playing outside with his pointed toy dagger. After a while, he heard a faint, rumbling noise. Suddenly, the ground began to tremble all around him. He froze.  Everything around him began to shake and shudder. This could only mean one thing – Mount Vesuvius was about to erupt!

Before he knew it, Saturn was sprinting towards the harbour. All of a sudden, he heard the most terrifying noise. BOOM!  Saturn looked towards Mount Vesuvius and saw a gigantic ash cloud explosion! The thick clouds spread across the sky like black ink. He began to cough violently.

Could you write your own story?

English – Spelling:

Year 3 half term homework

This week we won’t be setting English and Maths homework as we are setting you a project to do over the half term! Please do continue to read and practise your times tables though.

After half term, we will be learning about the Ancient Greeks. We would love everyone to find out a bit about them before we start! You could make a poster, a fact file, a model or any other type of project you like. Please post photos to seesaw. We can’t wait to see them! 🙂
