This half term, Year 3 explored and investigated all different types of rocks and their properties.
We tested which rocks were permeable and those that reacted with vinegar or not.
We also made our very own sedimentary rocks (out of bread, jam, raisins and crackers!) Each layer represented sediment, soil, plants and animals. When we broke it in half, we could see all the layers – an important feature of sedimentary rocks!
We also tested the hardness of rocks by using sandpaper and observing the dust that was created.
