What fun it is to be in Year 1 at Lawford Mead Primary School.
After all of the excitement of science week we went on our school trip to Colchester Zoo.
The sun shone and we had a lovely time using our knowledge of mammals, reptiles, birds, fish and amphibians.
A couple of groups had a chance to feed the Australian Rainbow Lorikeets which was fun, especially when they landed on your arm.
Another group of children fed the giraffes and looked at how long their tongues were.
All of the children had a workshop about penguins and found lots of information about them.
Below are a few photographs of our adventures.
We’d like to say a BIG THANK YOU to all of the children for showing superb behaviour and manners on our visit and to the parent helpers including Mrs Black (a school governor) for making it a very enjoyable trip for everyone.
Hope you all have a wonderful Easter break.
Year 1 Team.
