Tea with the Queen

In Year 1, children have started a new topic 'Bright lights, Big City' where they will be learning all about the royal family and different places in London. What better way to start the topic than to meet Her Majesty?

On Monday, the children received a letter from Buckingham Palace to inform them that the Queen would be visiting the school to find out what they have been learning so far. Children practiced the national anthem and their good manners for when she arrived. Once children had shook the Queen’s hand, she joined both classes as they indulged in some cucumber sandwiches and cake!
