German Day 2017

This year’s German day had a food theme! From Reception to Year 6, children tried some traditional German foods including wurst (sausage) and käse (cheese). Children sung a German song about food too!  KS2 children explored traditional German food shops and had a go at setting up and selling food products. They used euros to buy food and practiced their maths skills to give out change.  During the day, children also learnt a German folk song and practised their handwriting using German words. In PE, children supported their house teams in a game of rounders using their house team banners in German.  We all had fun learning about German food and culture.
