FUDGE Morning - June 2016

Thank you so much to all the dads, stepdads, grandads and uncles that joined us for our FUDGE morning.  It was an absolute joy to see you all reading, learning, competing and coding with your children!  Having you here meant so much to them and we hope you enjoyed the morning too.  We look forward to more events like this in future.  You men play an important part in our school community and have a huge impact on your children’s education.  Thank you again. FUDGE Morning Evaluation

  • It was good to see inside the school on a working day and PE on the field was excellent.
  • (I enjoyed) seeing all the children being taught so well, play ball on the field (long time since I’ve kicked a ball).
  • Really enjoyed the Dodgeball and outdoor activities.
  • It was great to see what actually happens in classes, seeing how the teachers engage the kids, the language they use and what they do.
  • It was interesting to sit with my grand-daughter and participate in a maths lessons.
  • I could take part in my daughter’s day at school, we both enjoyed time spent together.
  • I can understand better what they are talking about.I can show more understanding and I can connect with them in “their world” more readily.
  • I think it improves understanding of what the children do and helps with a community feel.
  • It’s all about community, trust and relationship building.
  • I think it shows our children that we are interested in their learning.I think it gives them an incentive to learn because their parents are interested in them.
  • It gives you a different insight into how things are done in the school’s day, so different from years past. Also gives everybody a chance to get involved.
  • It brings everyone together in a fun way and we really enjoyed the time.
  • It allows you to see first-hand how the children are taught and gives us a better understanding on how the schools integrate new and traditional teaching methods.
  • I appreciate the efforts made by the Lawford Mead team.
  • Lots of bonding with fathers, grandads and uncles with the children.
  • The main thing is the child showing pride with what they do at school and sharing that pride with their parents.
  • It helps build better relations between parents and the school and a chance for teachers and your child to show and explain to Dads the way they are being taught.
  • Good to see how the day is whilst he is a school to get a better insight into his school life.
  • Opportunities for parents to join their children at school provide benefits for everyone.Parents really feel part of their children’s education, the children get comfort and reassurance from their parents being there, taking an interest and the school benefits from the feeling of “community” this generates.
  • Gives the parents an inside view of what our kids are doing.
  • I learned more about the teaching methods and the interaction between teacher and pupil. The children have an opportunity to demonstrate to parents etc. their skills. The school is able to show off its methods and capabilities.
  • As a parent I was glad to see how my child is doing at school. She was very happy I was there with her.We had a lovely time, thank you for that.
  • Well organised, good turnout of parents.
  • It was brilliant, thank you very much.
  • Very enjoyable, good fun, everybody was helpful.
  • It was a very nice morning, good teacher.
  • Liked how the teachers discussed current news topics with the children.
  • I feel that after seeing the school operate from within my daughter is safe and well looked after.
  • First time at the new school, very good - 10/10.
  • Great event, enjoyed the kids explaining what they did at school to all those dads.
  • A really informative and fun morning.
  • What a great day and enjoyed every minute.
  • As a grandparent it was a rare opportunity to join in at school or learn some modern teaching methods.
  • It’s a great idea for this sort of event to happen in our school.
