We started our day with a visit from two Year 6 children who told us all about Nigeria. They showed us clothes and brought food for us to taste. Later we went to each of the Year 5/6 classes to learn about a different country. In Poplar we learnt about the United Arab Emirates. We counted to 10 in Arabic, learnt a few words and did some Arabic writing. We had to remember to write from right to left!
In DT, Year 5 have been studying Hong Kong. We started by looking at ingredients from around the world and then focused on ingredients that would be used in Chinese cooking. The children were familiar with some fruit and vegetables but didn’t know what some of them were. Can you see any familiar ingredients?
