Today Year 3 have visited Sandford Mill to find out about forces and friction. We tried lots of mini experiments to see how friction works including:

• Dragging a wooden box along the ground
• Moving boxes on different surfaces
• Making lego vehicles move using weights.

We also had a go at making aerodynamic planes out of paper and we tested each one to see which plane was the quickest!

We all learnt so much about forces and friction and had a really good trip!

                                        

                

Our new Science topic is all about magnets and forces! Over the first 2 Science lessons this half term, we have been exploring different types of magnets and describing what is happening using scientific language.

Which word describes when 2 magnets do not attract?
