In Sycamore we have been reading ‘The Lighthouse Keeper’s Lunch’ and thinking about the events that happen in the story. We have used our reading skills to answer inference questions, being reading detectives to find out how characters are feeling at different parts of the story.
We have started writing diary entries, imagining that we are Mr Grinling, it has been lots of fun and we have all done some amazing writing.
Here are two of Miss Dearing’s favourites!
Well done to Bethany.
Fantastic ideas Stephanie!
What a brilliant start to the Summer term!
We have spent the last week and a half looking at ‘The Lighthouse Keeper’s Lunch” by Ronda Armitage and this book has really engaged all of the children in Year 1.
Today we have been writing a diary entry about the main character Mr Grinling. It has been so hard to choose just one Star Writer as the writing has been fabulous from the entire class. The reason I have chosen this piece of writing is because Adam has remembered all of our steps to success to make his writing successful and he has also remembered our steps to success from last term too. Adam I particularly liked your first sentence when you set the scene for the beginning of the day.
Adam you have made me very proud – keep up this fantastic work.
