On Thursday 29th September years 1-6 are heading off to the Chelmsford Sports and Athletics Centre on Salerno Way to take part in our own Race for Life. Reception children will be running their own Race for Life during their PE lesson on Wednesday 28th September. We would like as much support as possible to help us run, jog and walk around the track on Thursday and raise funds for Cancer Research UK.
Cancer Research UK, are world leaders in finding new ways to prevent, diagnose and treat cancer. They want to create more tomorrows for more people which is why they’re determined to beat cancer sooner. Cancer Research UK receive no Government funding for their research. The life-saving work relies on the money raised through sponsorship. It is from the support through events like Race for Life that helps Cancer Research continue their groundbreaking work and help more people survive cancer.
At Lawford Mead we understand how valuable the research can be in preventing cancer and helping to cure it but understand that more research needs to be done to help fight and cure this awful illness. So many of us have been affected by cancer either ourselves, through the loss of a loved one or watching someone special go through the fight against cancer.
If you would like to make a donation we have our own just giving page where you can make donations. https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/lawford-mead
You can give donations to the school office or on the day we will have collection buckets.
We hope to see many of you there cheering us all along and making our Race for Life 2016 very special.
